WineryX Real Estate is a business that invented itself in 1999 when, as a residential real estate agent, I listed and sold my first winery in St. Helena. I used an out-of-the-box marketing approach by offering it as a lifestyle investment, as well as a business.

Ads in wine trade journals began generating winery buyers and sellers from wine regions all over California. The same complaints and comments were repeated again and again:

"Real estate agents around here don't get it."

"Realtors approach our winery like it's a house or commercial building."

“I have to call a dozen agents to find out what wineries are for sale.”

It became evident there was an unfilled need for small to medium size winery buyers and sellers to communicate, so WineryX filled the niche.

To be perfectly honest the learning curve was a like baptism by fire as the realities of filtering real buyers and real sellers came at a cost of many, many uncompensated hours of introducing unreal buyers to unreal sellers . The benefits of hands on knowledge and subsequent wisdom however eventually paid off.  By 2002 I had written over $50 million dollars in small to medium size winery and vineyard offers, and that proved to be just the beginning.

The WineryX approach to marketing and selling wineries and vineyards is the result of listening to what real buyers and real sellers want and need: confidentiality, accountability, accurate information, market knowledge, and a safe harbor to discuss acquisition interests.

Today WineryX is considered one of the preeminent winery brokerages in the state and in the U.S. We have referred buyers to wineries to many other wine regions around the country and as far away as Uruguay, Argentina, Europe and Australia. Our focus remains in our own backyard of the Napa and Sonoma wine countries where we know the players well and have the most comprehensive bird’s eye view of this market niche than any other brokerage.
